The morning will begin with proclamations. One of which our office was happy to coordinate for National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Next year, October 2020, we will be working to organize a Job Fair. Please, contact us if you are interested in participating.

We will start by discussing approving new positions and board appointments to the county. There’s a new major looking to join our county’s correctional facility, and two new board members with the Community Action Board. We are also looking to appoint a new member on the Charter Review Commission, which is a citizen’s review committee that looks over our County Charter, and makes amendments, when necessary.

We have several agenda items pertaining to approving arts grants for organizations in our county and a contract to work with rapid re-housing for the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida.

In the afternoon, we will recognize 20 employees who have dedicated more than 500 combined years of service to Orange County. Help us recognize them by sending them a letter or email, or come to our meeting and congratulate them, yourself!

There are a couple of different discussions and work session agenda items that pertain to that include discussing large semi-trucks parked in residential areas and an update on the Human Trafficking Resident Program which helps victims get their lives back. Two land-use cases are in district 5 and three ordinance amendments are up for a vote that has a county-wide effect.
