Sustanee Community Meeting
Our meeting took place at Corner Lakes Middle School. Members of the Orange County staff gave presentations and addressed the community’s concerns regarding Vision 2050, transportation and traffic safety, stormwater, and natural resources. Additionally, the Sustanee applicant delivered a presentation, and residents had the opportunity to ask questions and provide their thoughts.

Vision 2050 Workshop
People who attended our previous Vision 2050 Town Hall meetings had the opportunity to work together with staff to make sure that all the District 5 comments and feedback were implemented in the amendments for the Vision 2050. My request for a list of all the comments and a strike-through version was fulfilled by county staff. They did a wonderful job in implementing the communities feedback and the attendees at the work shop was very happy with the outcome. There is only one concern left – the inclusion of an area for intended growth within the Lake Pickett Study Area which the community would like removed if it is not already in the approved Grow development. This decision will be left to the Board of County Commissioners on July 25, 2023 at 2pm during the Public Hearing.

The number 3

Sunshine Meeting
I had a meeting with Commissioners Nicole Wilson and Michael “Mike” Scott to discuss crucial matters. Our conversation revolved around TDT and potential areas where the funds can be utilized to benefit Orange County. We also delved into the topics of Vision 2050 and Pluris Wedgefield. Constituents present were able to express their thoughts and concerns regarding these issues, allowing the Commissioners to gain valuable insight. The constituents left very happy with my efforts to make our government more transparent and allowing the public to be part of the conversations.

Two people walking in a corridor

A thoughtful member of the community has suggested an innovative idea to transform Church Street into a pedestrian corridor, connecting Downtown to Camping World Stadium. This proposal has the potential to relieve traffic congestion and encourage the use of alternative transportation modes in the heart of downtown. We provided the information so that she could contact the City of Orlando. The City has been informed, and the idea has been presented.

CASE CLOSED!

If you have an issue that needs to be resolved, use our contact form and we will connect you with the right people and resources.
