January 28, 2020, BCC Meeting

BCC Meeting Agenda

See the e-agenda of the next Board of County Commissioner’s (BCC) Meeting. The e-agenda for each BCC meeting is usually available online on the Thursday before the meeting.

As always, we do have time before the meeting starts for Public Comment, and for Public Hearings, there is also an opportunity to speak. Please arrive at 8:30 AM to sign up to talk before the morning session. The meeting takes place at 201 South Rosalind Ave., Orlando, FL 32801.

This meeting will start at 9 AM for the morning session and 2 PM for the afternoon session.

Below is a summary of upcoming agenda items pertaining to District 5 and/or County-wide. Click on the numbered links to be sent to the Comptroller’s website for more information on the item, along with attachments of more documentation.

The morning will begin with proclamations recognizing Black History Month and School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.

We will start by discussing an item I requested to make my intent for a motion at the next BCC meeting on February 11. The motion will be to rescind the action the Board made to approve a resolution to send support to the Florida Communities Trust (FCT) for the Osceola Parkway toll road to go through Split Oak Forest. Upon the comments I received from constituents, I contacted FCT to confirm the process the Board followed. The FCT advised that the Board needs to adhere to an alternative code. Therefore, I am requesting the Board rescind its vote and redo the process.

We have several agenda items pertaining to signage in the district. I am also making an appointment to a board. If you are interested in serving on a board, please visit our volunteer page on this website.

In the afternoon, we will recognize several employees who have dedicated many combined years of service to Orange County. Help us recognize them by sending them a letter or email, or come to our meeting and congratulate them, yourself!

There are a couple of public hearings for 2 developments in District 5.
